Public and Private Collections
As an active “Creator”—an artist—I feel it is vital I give my audience a chance to collect and purchase my work. Collecting and purchasing work from living artists helps support our practice, but it’s also a way to build your own personal aesthetic in addition to building a family legacy and wealth: art is an asset and can grow in value over time.
As a collector of my work, you are supporting and participating in preserving cultural and artistic shifts in our communities, along with public and private institutions.

How To Become a Collector:
The Purchasing Process
Becoming a collector is an exciting journey that can transform a simple hobby into a rewarding investment. Whether you’re drawn to rare coins, vintage vinyl, or fine art, understanding the purchasing process is essential for building a collection that reflects your passion and stands the test of time. Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting started.
1. Research and Define Your Focus
Before making any purchases, take the time to research different types of collectibles. Decide on a niche that captivates you. It could be based on historical significance, personal interest, or potential value appreciation. The more focused your collection, the more cohesive and meaningful it will be.
Some questions to consider:
Consider where you plan to place or hang the work (home, business, museum)?
What are your color palette preferences?
What size(s) are most appropriate for your needs?
Is it important that the work chosen is framed or unframed?
Are you looking for 2D work (Drawings, paintings, mixed media works), 3D (Ceramic work) or digital media (Video, Sound and or prints)?
2. Set a Budget
Establishing a budget is crucial. This will help prioritize any acquisitions and help me serve you as prospective collector. I am willing to work with my clients to ensure that I collaborate with them and find work that suits their budget. Having a large financial support is not a requirement to start and collect art. I pride myself in making sure that my work is assessible to all collectors at all stages.
3. Learn to Authenticate
Educate yourself on the authenticity of your chosen collectibles. Fake items and reproductions can be rampant in the market. Whether you’re collecting autographs or antiques, knowing how to verify authenticity will protect you from costly mistakes. Utilize experts, join collector communities, and invest in tools like authentication guides or testing kits.
👉🏾 I make sure all my clients are aware of where my signature is placed on works purchased, along with our established agreement of purchase to document the official sale and cost, including tax and date. This allows you to track and have an official record of the sale and acquisition of my work.
4. Purchase From Reputable Sources
When you’re ready to buy, opt for reputable dealers, auction houses, or well-known online platforms. These sources often provide authenticity guarantees and have established reputations. Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, as they often are.
Budget will always be considered
An official record of sale will be established via an invoice from me before delivery or in studio purchase as well. This establishes proof of date, cost and certification of the present value of your acquisition
If delivery is required? All sales must be completed by delivery date and time.
Date and time must be arranged in advance. Installation of the work is not a part of the acquisition process unless discussed and an additional fee negotiated.
5. Document and Preserve
Preservation and all Documentation including images are a vital part of collecting art and establishing while maintaining your art collection. This will ensure the beauty and value of your collection for years to come. Not to mention this will ensure the established wealth in which you can pass onto your family and/ or friends with peace of mind.
By following these steps, you can become a confident collector, enjoying the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of owning unique pieces of history or artistry.
My Purchasing Process
Step 1: Reach Out to Me
Having personal access to an artist is vital in the collecting and purchasing process. The opportunity to be invited into the studio and mind of the artist is, for many, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Personally, I feel having access to me allows both the artist and their audience to connect and interact on a more personal level.
Step 2: We Discuss Your Interests
During our time together, we will discuss your preference(s) as it relates to: dimensions, color, and the space the work will inhabit. We’ll also use this time to ensure collectors can ask questions about the process, content, inspirations and media.
Step 3: It’s Yours!
All prices will be discussed and disclosed clearly and in a timely fashion. An invoice for your purchase(s) will be generated as proof of transaction. Payments must be received in full by delivery and/or pickup. Installment payments may be made over 3 to 4 scheduled payments, with a 10% charge due immediately to hold the work of your choice. Dates and times for delivery can be flexibly scheduled.
Step 4: Artwork Gets Delivered
Delivery can be arranged with flexibility. Dates and times must be arranged with the artist within 7 business days after selection, if paid in full.
All work selected is available for pickup—but must be scheduled.
Work selected and paid for at the time of any studio visit is available to take home at the time of sale.
